Need SQL Server DBA II

Work location Options: Gaithersburg or Reston for 2 days, on-site in DC for 1 day, telework 2 days

​

General roles & responsibilities:

• Designs and develops data structures to store enterprise's multi Terabytes data.

• Design, implementation and maintenance of High Available clustered DB farm.

• Manages scheduled database processes supporting automated file transfers.

• Maintains databases, including statistics, indexing, structure modifications, capacity planning, and index analysis.

• 24x7 Production support for DB and NxGen systems.

• AWS and Azure administration support for Dev systems.

• Database refresh between environments, as required.

• Provide O&M support for Redmine tracker, Subversion, Captiva Scan systems, OCFO & Admin applications as required.

• Assist in Fed audits, Plan, assist and (or)  perform Contingency / DR solutions.

• Manages database security, logins, users, roles, and object permissions.

• Maintains instances configuration management & database objects.

• Works with integrated project teams as project database administrator for very large-scale modifications and new product releases.

• Plans and executes small-scale database modifications and SQL scripts for bug fixes, data repair, and functionality enhancements.

• Implements database backup and recovery procedures and disaster recovery plans.

• Supports Drupal MySQL, Siebel data replication to and from multiple web sites and maintains the underlying batch processes.

• Assists software engineers and end users with query writing, db code reviews, database access, and general information.

• Assist application deployments, Prod Windows Server patching and DB instances patching.

• Maintains online analytical processing server, Enterprise Data Warehouse DB maintenance, SSIS migrations and deployments and processes to replicate production data to the server.

• Performs transaction analysis and performance tuning of database applications and batch processes across Siebel, Documentum and web apps.

• Troubleshoots and maintains database encryption and keying.

• Confers with management and staff on policies and procedures, technical problems, and priorities that relate to database operations.

• Assist dev team with Infrastructure related queries and VM activities.

• Prepares project status/progress reports on assigned activities.

• Act as a cross-functional consultant between Infrastructure team - Development group - CAB group - Tech management.

• Performs other tasks as assigned consistent with this level of responsibility

• Understand the importance of meeting deadlines.
